Full time Assistant Systems Accountant required in Australia, 
Murarrie QLD

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a highly successful national organisation with over $1 billion turnover, who are making a difference to the lives of children and families across Australia every day. This is a newly created fixed term contract for 10 months, and the role will be positioned within the Goodstart Finance department, reporting to the Systems Accountant (Projects).

The key purpose of this role, will be to assist the Finance team (including A/R, A/P, Purchasing, Asset Management, Capital Projects, Treasury and Financial Accounting) in their day-to-day use of SAP, and to work with them in the pursuit of gaining maximum value from the SAP system. Integral to this position, is general SAP intelligence, understanding of business processes & needs, the ability to identify defects &/or potential issues, a wish to share knowledge key to optimal performance for the team and in general a common-sense approach, so that the business users and team members feel that they are benefiting from the system – in that SAP is making their work lives both easier and more productive.


Key responsibilities:

Day-to-day End-user Support and Guidance

  • Be the central/first point of contact when Finance team members have SAP-related user issues
  • Trouble-shoot and provide guidance and possible solutions where appropriate
  • Write detailed IT help request logs when issues require escalation (including tracking of requests and status reporting to users and managers)
  • Provide general assistance and guidance with SAP functionality
  • Oversee applications for SAP security profile addition/change requests (as per Goodstart ICT guidelines)
  • Facilitate (and participate in, where necessary) end-user testing for scheduled SAP Upgrades, by preparing testing plans and collating test data and documentation (as required by ICT)
  • Preparation and/or maintenance of appropriate documentation when minuting workshops, detailing solutions, identifying testing scenarios, developing user guides and training materials, summarizing new/amended business processes/updates to work practices

Evaluating the success of the change

Experience Essential:


Possess a holistic understanding of SAP, key integration points of modules FI-CO, MM, AM, PS, and have prior experience working with interfaces from other systems
Have more than 3 years’ experience as a SAP business analyst/consultant/super-user in an SAP project environment or in a key SAP support function
Strong Excel expertise.

Full time Graduate Accountant required in Australia, Melbourne VIC


This role is to process ACCIONA Energy operational and project treasury transactions, and revenue settlement transactions for operating wind farms. This role will also have exposure to general accounting compliance including month end, accounts payable, and other statutory reporting requirements.Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is based in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

Banking


Preparation and processing of on-line transactions, including foreign currency transactions, for group company bank accounts.
Monitoring of cash balances and working with team members to assist in cash flow forecasting.
Bank account administration including the following:

  • opening and closing of accounts as required;
  • account signatory maintenance;
  • correspondence as required;
  • maintenance of cheque and deposit book stocks;
  • Credit card applications and maintenance of balances;
  • Liaise with banking institutions when irregularities or errors occur; and
  • When opportunities arise to utilise new banking methodologies/systems, prepare a cost / benefit / risk analysis and recommendation.

Energy Settlements for Operating Wind Farms


Weekly Reconciliation of generation data provided externally for ACCIONA wind farms.
Processing of transactional settlements on the Austraclear platform for ACCIONA wind farms.
Maintain a high understanding of the revenue settlement process and associated rules, policies and systems.
Preparation of Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGC’s) invoices to electricity buyers and maintain strong communication.
Registration and where required, transfer of environmental products relating to all generation sites including reconciliation to metered generation data.
Prepare and report on generation, for audits submitted to the Clean Energy Regulator.

General accounting compliance


Assist the finance team in the preparation of reconciliations at month end.
Preparation of Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys.
Preparing monthly and quarterly Australian Financial Services License requirements including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
Assisting the accounts payable function when required.
Preparation of Business Activity Statements.
Assisting KPMG with audit information requests.

Qualifications/Experience required
Completed Business/Commerce degree, preferably majoring in Accounting.
Secondary education or equivalent.
Capacity to balance priorities and manage expectations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, to exercise initiative, to set priorities and to work within required time lines.
A good communicator. Ability to build and sustain relationships with a network of key people internally and externally.
Developed computer literacy skills, including the use of Microsoft Office products. Strong Excel skills looked upon favorably.

An opportunity has been created for an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance Team, based at Helensvale. This is a full-time role reporting to the Finance Manager, where you will be responsible for accounts payable duties including but not limited to:

Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts for the group. These reports include Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets and Debtors Reports on a company basis.
Assist with the analytical review of month end results for discussion with the Financial Controller
Assist with the preparation of monthly Business Activity Statements and PAYG Instalments
Review and monitor the accounts for the group on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate reporting in accordance with standards and pronouncements of the Australian Accounting Standards Board
Manage and protect the financial information and records of the group

The position is best suited to someone with the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience with Australian accounting standards;
  • Experience using all/some of the following ERP systems; Viewpoint, Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, Timberline or a similar
  • Experience resolving outstanding queries within mutually agreed timelines;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • The ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated;
  • High attention to detail
