Full time Accountant Required in USA, Tennessee-Knoxville ($40,000 yearly)

Mission

In support of UT’s mission of instruction, research, and public service, we facilitate excellence in all aspects of the financial administration of sponsored projects.


Responsibilities

Establish all restricted Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements for sponsored projects and gift accounts that are not related to endowment funds.

Provide accurate and timely invoices and financial reports to sponsors.

Ensure the rapid collection of all monies owed to UT under these awards.

Ensure accurate application of sponsored projects payments to the appropriate outstanding invoices or directly to the appropriate WBS elements.

Provide regulatory guidance to principal investigators, department heads, and departmental accounting staff.

Request and distribute funds from federal agencies under letter of credit system.

Act as primary point of contact for external audits.

Provide training to university personnel on accounting procedures for sponsored projects.










Full time Financial Accountant Required in USA, College Park, MD

The Financial Accountant reports to the Director of Fiscal Planning, Analysis and Reporting to assist in design and preparation of various financial reports, data analysis and forecasting. This position will also assist with creating and testing enhancements to the KFS Reporting environment used by the campus.


Other duties include:

  • Assist in preparation of both internal and external reports, forecasts and metrics to effectively monitor the financial position of the university.
  • Identify areas of the financial system (KFS) and the business process which require enhancements for the purpose of providing more current financial information in the reporting system.
  • Validate monthly KFS data and acquire a complete understanding of the data that is used in reporting and be able to quickly and easily identify variances/differences (i.e. BOR Report vs FBM043, RStars Report vs FBM043).
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert in the KFS Reporting System, provide functional expertise to improve the reporting environment for all users.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in the financial accounting field.

Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in financial analysis, reconciliation techniques and data integrity verification using large sets of data.

Strong communication skills and customer service oriented.

Demonstrate proficiency with financial systems and PC applications.

Preferences:

Experience with KFS (the universities accounting system).

Full time Financial Accountant Required in USA, New Haven, CT

Position Focus:

As a member of the Capital Accounting Department in the Controller’s Office, the individual will be reporting directly to the Associate Director of Capital Accounting. The Capital Accountant will be responsible for the capital project life cycle with a major focus on supporting the Workday Multiple Funding Sources (MFS) Module. The individual will be responsible for providing oversight of capital project funding and reporting in Workday. As part of the Workday reporting, the individual should have advanced Excel skills for developing high quality capital projects reports, manipulating/analyzing data, leading efforts for potential enhancements and making recommendations to the Associate Director. In addition, other reporting and analysis on capital projects as assigned.


Essential Duties

1. Verify over 600 capital projects have been properly funded in Workday through Multiple Funding Sources (MFS) by downloading monthly transactions in Excel and using pivots ulas to summarize/manipulate the data by capital project.


2. Create/Edit Fund Sources and Fund Sources Rules in Multiple Funding Sources (MFS) related to the Project Funding Hierarchy in Workday.


3. Develop or modify Workday reports for Multiple Funding Sources (MFS) to help with monitoring of capital projects (funding and disbursements).


4. Test/verify enhancements in Workday functional for Multiple Funding Source (MFS).


5. Work with Business Solution and Workday on production issues related Multiple Funding Source (MFS) in Workday.


6. Assist with processing Multiple Funding Sources (MFS) for Supplier Invoices, Expense Reports, and Journal Sources each month.


7. Work with the other departments across the Controller's Office as well as the Budget Office, Office of Facilities and other University departments to prepare and monitor capital project transactions to ensure they are processed correctly in Workday.


8. Assist with maintaining and running monthly Capital Accounting Reports.


9. Work on special projects as assigned by the Associate Director of Capital Accounting.


Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or business administration and four years of related professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education and Experience:Prior experience in higher education or other not-for-profit

Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting and audit principles.


Required Skill/Ability 2:

Advanced Excel skills. Superior communication skills and the ability to maintain integrity of confidential matters.

Proven analytical, financial analysis and research skills. Superior, creative and independent judgment.
